Once again we’re back in full swing for another school year of fund raising! We’d like to take this opportunity to remind Upward Bound students who we are and what we do.

In November of 2003 the staff members of Upward Bound at USM decided that not only should they be making ways to help students academically get to college but also financially, as a result Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars was born.

Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to college bound Upward Bound students. All time involved in making this happen is put in on a volunteer basis which is why we strongly encourage student participation in all of our activities!

There are many ways that Upward Bound at USM Students and Families can participate in helping UB at USM Dollars for Scholars.

Some ideas are:

• Participate in UB at USM DFS Fundraisers
• Create your own fundraiser to benefit UB at USM DFS
• Come to UB at USM DFS Meetings and share you ideas
• Contact UB at USM DFS Volunteers to see what other things you could do!
